About Eva Monsen
As a founding engineer at Tend, a startup that provides gut microbiome health testing and medical devices, I am responsible for designing, developing, and managing the ML algorithms, data architecture, pipeline, and visualization tools that enable customers to understand their gut health.In addition to my current role at Tend, I am also a Data Engineering Principal at Sunrise Data, Inc, a consultancy that specializes in data transformation and visualization for clients across various industries. I contribute directly and sometimes manage a team of 1-3 engineers on projects that involve technologies such as AWS, Python, JavaScript, R, SQL, NoSQL, Apache Spark, and Docker. Some of my notable projects include building a state-of-the-art data lake using Apache Spark with both batch and streaming processing, creating ETL of app data and Apache logs into AWS Redshift, and developing front-end apps in ReactJS.
