About Eva Yakutis

Eva comes to the field of Community Development through her professional local government experience and a strong passion for empowering communities. Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) is her area of expertise. ABCD is a research-based philosophy that focuses on building community through identifying and connecting the \"assets\" already working in neighborhoods - its residents, neighborhood groups and organizations, and local institutions. It is a glass-half-full approach to sustainable community improvement and sustainability.In addition to developing and implementing the neighborhoods programs for the City of Riverside, Eva leveraged the City\'s federal and local funding, municipal housing and homeless programming, while tapping into the gifts, talents, and abilities of local residents. She credits her career success to mentors Ronald O. Loveridge (UC Riverside) and Henry Moore (ABCD Institute, Northwestern University). Her background includes strategic planning, grant writing, technical writing, marketing, and public participation contract services to both public and private sector entities. Areas of specialty: Grant writing, community outreach and collaboration, community building, neighborhood capacity-building programs, training, action planning, copyediting, technical writing, event planning.
