ABOUT EVA NORRIS

My interests lie within the education sector. Studying sociology at A level enabled me to develop a passion for understanding the education system at a deeper level, most closely social class inequalities. At degree level whilst studying Education and Social Science, I’ve further developed interests in Early Years education, SEND/ SEBD and SEMH, curriculum, pedagogy and practice as well as understanding the psychology and social theories and behind education. During my time at university I’ve developed strong skills and techniques whilst nannying in varied areas across Kent, East Sussex and London. I work closely on early years development stages, such as Piaget’s stage development theory. In doing this, I implement early years practices like Montessori in my work, this allows me to grow my skills as well as experience in practice with the children. Having a thorough understanding of the curriculum and early years education allows me to effectively implement engaging learning practices, and a caring and nurtured environment. Whilst undertaking a PGCE year in primary education in 2022/2023 I was able to further my knowledge and especially my practical skills for education, applying this to daily experiences and challenges within teaching which I thoroughly enjoyed. This further specialises my education and training for Nannying too. Most importantly developing diligence, confidence, and always prioritising the children whilst nannying, allows me to become highly skilled in this area of work, with extensive and specialised experience.
