ABOUT EUNICE N. HINES

Eunice Hines’ career has been a result of her passion to gain an understanding of what the community needs are and to help create an impact within the various populations, all to provide better health outcomes. Ms. Hines humble beginnings started in CHI’s Administration office. During her fourteen-year tenure at Community Health of South Florida, Inc, Eunice has concentrated on serving the at-risk populations in South Florida. She has led and coordinated the implementation of Chronic Disease Self-Management Programs for patient education in the management of chronic conditions and the effective recovery of at-risk patients. Workshops were held in CHI centers, in community agencies, county parks, and residential buildings in English and Spanish. In 2016, Eunice was tapped to be the Director of Migrant Health Services with a clear goal to bridge the healthcare gap affecting the migrant and farmworkers communities. She accomplished building this program by engaging and including a team of Certified Community Outreach Workers (CCHW), who promote CHI health services to the migrant community and ensure patients receive adequate health and social services. In addition, the CCHW team participates in health fairs, conduct Blood pressure and Glucose screenings, provide education, linkage & enrollment, attend community partner meetings, and find innovative and effective ways to meet the needs of both Migrant & Homeless population. With the great success and inroads made by the Migrant Health Services Program,it was clear that the program be expanded to include outreach services in 2018. In 2020, Eunice’s scope of responsibilities grew to include the coordination and oversight of outreach services conducted by a new state-of-the-art mobile medical van. These added services provide a “one stop shop” holistic approach which helps better identify social determinants of health affecting patients and families. The outreach arm of the program is helping to reach the homeless as well as underserved government housing communities. Ms. Hines’ and the program’s new goals are to expand these services to other at-risk communities within the CHI service areas.
