About Eugene Manley
I’m a PhD-trained molecular and translational cancer biologist with over 15 years of experience analyzing tumor microenvironment dynamics, hypoxia modulation, angiogenesis, drug resistance pathways, and experimental oncology models. My scientific work has included in vitro and in vivo xenograft studies, mechanistic pathway characterization, gene expression analysis, and translational research bridging molecular findings to clinical relevance in lung and breast cancer. In addition to leading nonprofit and health equity initiatives, I bring deep experience in evaluating mechanistic reasoning, interpreting experimental design, and reviewing scientific writing for clarity, accuracy, and biological validity. I have regularly assessed complex biological explanations across molecular, cellular, and systems-level domains, ensuring logical coherence, correct pathway attribution, and alignment with established evidence. As Founder & CEO of the SCHEQ (STEMM & Cancer Health Equity) Foundation, I help organizations translate scientific progress into measurable, trusted, and equitable patient outcomes, particularly in lung cancer. My approach integrates molecular science, implementation strategy, and community partnership to build scalable systems that improve screening, biomarker/NGS literacy, standard-of-care adoption, and clinical trial participation. What I bring:• Molecular & Cellular Biology expertise (tumor biology, hypoxia, angiogenesis, drug resistance)• Experimental design & data interpretation (in vitro, in vivo, translational models)• Mechanistic pathway analysis & structured scientific evaluation• Technical writing review & biological accuracy assessment• Translation of complex science for expert and non-expert audiencesBoard & advisory roles (selected): National Lung Cancer Roundtable (Stigma & Nihilism; Health Equity Task Forces), PCORI Comparative Clinical Effectiveness Research Advisory Panel, Stony Brook Cancer Center Community Advisory Council. If you’re working at the intersection of molecular biology, AI-enabled scientific systems, translational oncology, or health equity strategy, let’s connect.
