ABOUT EUAN MCVICAR

I am a Non-Executive Director and Chair with specialist thought leadership capability around all aspects of Energy, Climate and Sustainability, working across purpose-led, highly regulated public and private sector organisations and ecosystems. I was named Legal 500’s Leading Energy Individual of 2018.Capitalising on extensive interdependent board advisory experience and an executive career that, I build robust risk and governance frameworks and enable best-in-class ESG, cultural and strategic transformational change. With an executive career rooted in the energy sector, as General Counsel at GB Energy regulator Ofgem and as General Counsel and Company Secretary at Green Investment Bank plc, overseeing all legal and governance issues and navigating the company through its privatisation journey. My early positions include Partner and Head of Energy Transactions and Advisory Team at Pinsent Masons, and I later rejoined the firm in 2021 in a consultancy capacity to help guide its response to climate and sustainability issues. I currently serve on the boards of the Low Carbon Contracts Company, the Electricity Settlements Company, the 5 Scottish HubCos and The Biggar Gin Company and also serve as one of two Independent Panel Members on the Code Change Committee that oversees changes to the trading arrangements for the non-household water market in England and Wales.I have recently served as board member and subsequently Non-Executive Chair at Crown Estate Scotland, having previously chaired its Investment Committee and served on its Risk Committee as a non-exec board member. Earlier roles include NED at Scottish Renewables and executive, board and committee positions at Green Investment Bank and its FCA-regulated investment management subsidiary, which raised the world\'s first dedicated offshore wind fund.Leveraging my strong commercial and operational acumen and a passionate commitment to tackling the climate and nature crises in ways that help society thrive, I drive revenue and capital growth, deliver non-financial impact returns and champion ambitious ESG agendas. Additionally, with a firm belief that collaboration, long-term thinking and trusted relationships produce the best results, I am recognised for my pragmatic, ethical and inclusive mentorship style. This involves advising boards on future-proof investments and transactions, developing talent and succession plans, and rapidly advancing scale-up and start-up goals, while placing purpose, corporate governance and regulatory compliance at the core of strategic decision-making.
