ABOUT ETHAN WILKIE

As a Biomechanist and a self-proclaimed ‘sneakerhead’, I’m passionate about optimizing athletic performance, enhancing sports equipment, and improving ergonomics across industries. Currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Neuroscience & Biomechanics at McGill University, I am a proud member of the McGill Ice Hockey Research Group, collaborating with industry leaders like Bauer Hockey LLC to drive innovation in hockey performance and equipment design.My background includes an MSc in Kinesiology (Biomechanics & Ergonomics) from the University of New Brunswick, where I worked in tandem with the Integrative Locomotion Laboratory at the University of Massachusetts and PUMA on projects pertaining to advanced footwear technology in the context of track and field. This was an incredibly rewarding experience.My industry collaborations and research work extend beyond sports, as I’ve worked on ergonomics initiatives in healthcare and military settings—from assessing patient-transferring techniques in Canadian healthcare to conducting biomechanical assessments of lifting mechanics in Canadian soldiers.I’ve also been deeply involved in the non-profit sports sector, working with Athletics New Brunswick and Athletics Canada to develop programs, organize track meets, and support athlete development.With expertise in sports science, analytics, and industry collaboration, I’m committed to pushing the boundaries of biomechanics, technology, and ergonomics to improve performance, safety, and efficiency across sectors.
