About Ethan Hein

I am an adjunct professor of music technology, education and theory at NYU, Montclair State University, and The New School. I have a PhD in music education from NYU. As a founding member of the NYU Music Experience Design Lab (musedlab.org), I have taken a leadership role in the development of various technologies for music learning and expression, most notably the Groove Pizza. Together with Will Kuhn, I am the co-author of Electronic Music School: Empowering Student Creativity, published by Oxford University Press. I also host a podcast, Ethan Teaches You Music, and write a monthly column for MusicRadar.

   As a founding member of the NYU Steinhardt Music Experience Design Lab, design innovative technology-based music learning experiences. Projects include the Groove Pizza, an intuitive circular rhythm interface, and Theory For Producers, an online music theory course for creators of hip-hop, EDM and other electronic music. http://musedlab.org
