About Ethan Peterson
I believe employee benefits should do more than exist on paper. They should deliver real value, transparency, and accountability. At BeneRe, I work with brokers and employers to design and implement supplemental benefits through group captive structures that are built to actually work for employees. My focus is helping partners move beyond traditional voluntary models and into strategies that deliver meaningful coverage, predictable costs, and the return of unused premium when claims run low.In my role as Captive Program Manager, I spend most of my time educating brokers, advising employers, and helping teams think differently about Accident, Critical Illness, Hospital Indemnity, and related benefits. The goal is simple: better alignment, better outcomes, and structures that stand up to scrutiny.I’ve spent my career in employee benefits consulting and business development, and I’ve seen how much opportunity is lost when programs are designed for convenience instead of value. I’m passionate about challenging “business as usual” and helping more organizations access smarter, more transparent benefit solutions. If you’re a broker or employer looking to strengthen your benefits strategy without adding noise or risk, I’m always open to connecting.

Sep 2025 — Present · Columbus, OH, US
At BeneRe - a pioneer in market-disrupting approaches to supplemental health benefits and the creator of the first supplemental health group captive - I manage and grow our group captive programs (available to employers with 100+ eligible employees). I work with brokers, employers, and employees to unlock more value from supplemental health benefits, including Accident, Critical Illness, and Hospital Indemnity. My focus is on education and partnership: equipping brokers with tools to better serve their clients, guiding employers on how to maximize benefit strategies while leveraging BeneRe’s one-of-a-kind financial model, and helping employees get the most out of their coverage.
