ABOUT ETHAN MCFEE

As a recently graduated chemistry major from the University of New Hampshire, I have a special interest in organic synthesis, and possess a strong foundation in analytical and physical chemistry as well. My research focused on synthesizing novel compounds, and I’m passionate about advancing the frontiers of chemical research.For my senior thesis, I was a member of the Miller Group, where I gained valuable hands-on experience with complex synthetic processes. I am well-versed in key analytical techniques, including titration, spectroscopy (IR, Proton and C13 NMR), and various forms of chromatography, and am proficient in the use of neutral atmosphere tools such as the Schlenk line and glove box.Key Skills:Analytical Methods: Titration, Spectroscopy, Chromatography, HPLC, LC and GC MS, IR, Proton and C13 NMR Interpretation.Data Analysis and Visualization: Excel, Matlab, Skyline.Advanced Lab Techniques: Schlenk Line, Glove Box, Recrystalization and other purification techniques.In addition to my technical expertise, I have strong writing and communication skills, honed through years of writing-intensive courses. This combination of technical acumen and communication ability allows me to effectively present and analyze complex data.I was also an active member of the Alpha Chi Sigma fraternity (Mu chapter), where I engaged with a professional network of chemists.In my free time, I enjoy outdoor activities like snowboarding and hiking, balancing my passion for science with a love of nature.
