ABOUT ETHAN GODDEN

As a Senior Manager in Crowe\'s Customs and International Trade team, I support clients in the UK and beyond on a plethora of customs, excise and wider global trade challenges. With global experience across supply chain optimisation, classification, valuation, origin, special procedures, excise management and environmental taxes, I help ensure that all risks and opportunities are fully assessed by businesses. Originally joining Deloitte in 2018 as a school leaver, I specialised in global trade advisory, tackling customs & excise challenges daily. Working with clients to ensure the most effective and efficient approach was taken to Brexit, a global pandemic and Trump tariffs. Key work has included identification of trade & supply chain risk areas, advising on global customs set-up, and assisting with the implementation of processes and controls to ensure business compliance and continuity. I have supported and guided clients in various HMRC authorisation applications and audits including Inward Processing, Customs Warehousing, SCDP, Authorised Consignor, Authorised Economic Operator as well as numerous excise approvals.I’ve also undertaken a number of industry secondments to act as a de-facto customs manager for global businesses across the automotive, consumer retail and manufacturing sectors, helping to manage and maintain a UK operations as well as oversee international compliance teams.
