ABOUT ETHAN COLEMAN

My interest in an aviation career started when I was very young. It was the first flight I could remember at age five, and I was sitting in my window seat when a flight attendant stopped by. She happened to notice I had all of my airplane figurines lined up on the tray table and asked if I wanted to see the cockpit once we landed. Of course I said yes without hesitation,and was at the edge of my seat for the remainder of the flight. I couldn’t wait until I got in there to see exactly what everything looked like in this massive commercial jet.Upon entering I was amazed by all the buttons, screens, and other cool switches scattered around throughout the cockpit. It was the best moment of my life up to that point and I still have the photo to remind me of what sparked my passion for aviation. From then on I always dreamed of being in the cockpit one day, but as a captain, and ultimately the one in charge. It was that moment when my love and admiration for aviation was born.My goal is to one day be a commercial airline pilot, and realize my dream that began 12 years ago. I also want to one day give another small kid the same enjoyment I received at age five and hopefully become a role model to other people of color who also share the goal and passion of working in aviation.
