This position is in the Network Engineering and Security Group of ITSD. The position is responsible for performing engineering research, design, implementation of design, and testing of Local Area Networks (LAN) and Wide Area Networks (WAN), as well as providing engineering support during installation and deployment of LAN/WAN. Also, the position is responsible for procuring and configuring network equipment such as routers, switches, firewalls, virtual private networks, intrusion detection systems, wireless access points, communications cabling systems, and other related auxiliary systems. Duties include, but are not limited to, project management of LAN/WAN installations and facility move activities, assessing customer business requirements, developing and managing project scope/budget/schedule, managing customer relationships, coordinating and collaborating with various team members within ITSD and the customers, contract administration and related duties, commission and turnover of systems, minor troubleshooting, and network management.
