Always try something new if you are given the opportunity – you never know what you might learn. “I’m scared” is something you may hear me say quite frequently. I freely admit that stepping out of my comfort zone is something I do on a weekly basis and something I have done for most of my life. Whether it’s being Padi Scuba Diving accredited and achieving my kayaking qualifications when I have a fear of being underwater or going up the Eiffel tower or hiking up mountains when I have a fear of heights. In my professional life being comfortable being uncomfortable has stood me in good stead through-out my career moving from industry to industry working across financial services and pensions, luxury goods and prestige watches, avionics into consumer goods, where I specialise and now into Diversity, Inclusion, Belonging and Equity.So I always try to keep the below in mind…Never just say no – you never know what you may be able to do if you think and do things differently.
