ABOUT CLAUDIA ESTEVES

I love a good story - and I\'m passionate about making stories reach as many people as possible. For a few years, I\'ve done that by working as a rights manager in the publishing industry. Now, at Audible, I\'m leading a team responsible for content acquisition and audio production in Portuguese, so we can expand our catalogue and reach new listeners. As a rights manager, I\'ve built strong relationships with publishers and literary agents all over the world, getting to know their local publishing landscape, offering them just what they were looking for and, ultimately, negotiating and closing deals. Fostering those relationships, always keeping in mind the cultural idiosyncrasies of each country, was essential for my success in business development, by increasing revenue and beating my targets. People and relationships are crucial, but so is data. I have an analytical mind that is always happy to crunch the numbers and create data-driven strategies. I bring this combination of people and analytical skills to work every day, and I can quickly switch from negotiating a complex royalties structure to having a creative discussion about an author\'s upcoming breakthrough sci-fi audiodrama. Ultimately, I\'m all about finding the best - and fastest - ways to make stories travel, far and wide, to reach readers (and listeners!) new and old.
