ABOUT ESTEN RYE

I am a professional software engineer who works in a cross-functional capacity to build automated software and infrastructure delivery solutions that meet the needs of architecture, operations, software quality and development teams. My professional passion centers around providing quality, reliable and repeatable solutions that provide business value to my end users, coworkers and stakeholders. I believe the devil is in the details you choose not to automate and I am driven to eliminate those snowflake systems wherever possible.After college, I started my career at as a Digital Forensic Examiner. I was fortunate to have a great mentor as my boss and he quickly drove two principals into me right away- Pay attention to the details and document them well- Trust, but verify. Never take anything at face value.This experience was formative in the way I write software. It taught me the efficiency and value of designing self documenting systems for repetitive and error prone tasks.I decided to move on to pursue a more software engineering focused career path. In each organization I have had the oppotunity to join, I have worked hard to become a leader. I have a knack for finding that particular pain point in an organization, quickly becoming an educated resource on that topic, and working cross-functionally to resolve or mitigate the issue.I chose to pursue my graduate studies in software engineering because it is more than just a profession to me, it\'s a passion. I am driven to contiuously improve and enjoy the challenge of learning and applying technology, patterns and practices to complex business problems. Pursuing this degree presents me with an opportunity to reflect on my professional experience in an academic lens and provides me a structured envrionment to push myself outside of the comforts of my core competencies.
