ABOUT ESTELLE RAIMONDO

I joined the World Bank\'s Independent Evaluation Group in 2016 as an expert in evaluation methods. I advise and train teams across IEG on a wide range of research designs and foster methodological innovations. I lead evaluation teams in conducting complex evaluations, such as World Bank\'s country engagements and social contracts; the Outcome Orientation of World Bank Group country programs, and the evaluation of the Human Capital Project. Before joining IEG, I was first an evaluation specialist at UNESCO and then a policy researcher at the George Washington University (GWU). I continue to be anchored in academia as a professorial lecturer and research adviser to Masters students in Public Policy at GWU. My research has been published in several internationally peer-reviewed journals and received awards, including from the American Evaluation Association. My first book is: Dealing with complexity in development evaluation: a practical approach (2015, with Michael Bamberger and Jos Vaessen; SAGE Publications). I hold a Ph.D. in Public Policy and Evaluation Research from the George Washington University, a Masters in Economic Policy from Sciences Po Paris and a Masters in Economic and Political Development from Columbia University where I studied as a Fulbright scholar.
