About Esteban Tovar
I’m in the final semester of my BSW program, in the final stretch of learning, growth, and figuring out what kind of practitioner I want to be. Over the past year, I have built a dual career pathway by completing MHPS/RSPS training while continuing my social work education. My peer support internship gave me the chance to walk alongside participants experiencing co‑occurring challenges. My current internships with Wimberley ISD and the FESTA program have shown me what it looks like to support youth as they navigate late childhood and adolescence. These experiences have inspired me to pursue trauma‑informed, recovery‑aligned work.After graduation, I’ll be able to work as either as either a social work practitioner or a peer support specialist. Either profession will support me as I enter the MSW program at Texas State University in Fall 2026.
