About Angela Essa
Graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Massachusetts Amherst with a BS in Biology and a minor in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. After graduating from college, I worked for 2 years as a Clinical Research Coordinator in the Scharf Laboratory at Massachusetts General Hospital, studying the genetics of neurodevelopmental conditions.I completed my Medical Degree at the University of Massachusetts Chan School of Medicine in 2023. During this time, I performed research on hypertension and cardiovascular disease in pregnancy under the supervision of Dr. Lara Kovell in the Department of Cardiology and Dr. Gianna Wilkie in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.I am an Obstetrics and Gynecology Resident Physician at UMass Chan-Baystate Medical Center. I am interested in research, reproductive justice, and maternal-fetal medicine. I am passionate about medical education and providing full-spectrum reproductive healthcare.
