At Host Site (New Jersey Department of Health): Worked on the NJ Biomonitoring (NJB) team to execute the NJHANES study, the state’s first population surveillance study. Range of tasks included: Recruited and consented participants, managed quality assurance, planned fieldwork for both internal and external collaborators, and collecting biospecimens (blood & urine) from NJ residents for testing. Used R (programming language) on a wider team of specialists to analyze the biospecimens for >120 environmental contaminants (ex. lead, arsenic, mercury & PFAS). Processed relevant psychosocial questionnaire data from these populations. Communicated research findings back to participants, the scientific community, and the public via presentations, etc.
