As part of the ENGINE Operations team, I provide safety support for maintenance planning and execution across Chevron’s Australian Business Unit (ABU) LNG operations. I work closely with planning teams, contractors, and HSE specialists to ensure maintenance activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and in compliance with Chevron’s Operational Excellence standards.Key Responsibilities:• Support maintenance planning by applying the ABU HSE Screening Checklist to identify and address safety risks early.• Facilitate and lead HAZID (Hazard Identification) sessions for high-risk and complex maintenance tasks.• Review Permits to Work and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) to ensure effective risk controls are documented and implemented.• Provide safety input during Management of Change (MOC) reviews to assess and manage impacts of proposed changes.• Confirm compliance with training and induction requirements for employees and contractors.• Review and support contractor HSE mobilization plans to ensure readiness before site work begins.• Assist in incident investigations, contributing technical safety insight and supporting root cause analysis.• Plan and validate safety measures for temporary equipment and ensure appropriate PPE is selected and used.• Collaborate with environmental, occupational hygiene, and dangerous goods specialists to address cross-functional HSE requirements.• Maintain ongoing communication with planning teams through formal safety checkpoints and continuous engagement.
