ABOUT ESHANWITA CHAKRABORTY
I am currently pursuing a PhD in Polymer Science at the University of Calcutta, with a research focus on the design and functionalization of polymeric systems for biomedical and antimicrobial applications. My work integrates principles of polymer chemistry, microbiology, and materials science to develop advanced functional materials with potential applications in pathogen detection, antimicrobial resistance mitigation, and therapeutic delivery systems.My research interests lie in: • Functional and hybrid polymer systems • Polymer–biomolecule interactions • Antimicrobial and anti-siderophore strategies • Fluorescent and theranostic materials • Nanomaterial–polymer interfacesI have hands-on experience in molecular biology and microbiological techniques, including PCR, DNA isolation, cloning, and protein analysis, complemented by exposure to in silico interaction studies.I am particularly interested in interdisciplinary research that bridges polymer science and biological systems, with the aim of developing scalable and translational solutions for healthcare and environmental challenges.
