ABOUT ESEOSA OMORUYI
I am a banking and financial services lawyer with experience spanning Canada and Nigeria, advising lenders, borrowers, project sponsors, and financial institutions on complex financing transactions and regulatory matters.Currently, I manage the Finance practice area within LexisNexis Canada’s Practical Guidance, where I develop precedents, clauses, and practice notes that support Canadian finance lawyers across areas such as bilateral and syndicated lending, asset-based lending, acquisition financing, project finance and securitization.Previously, I articled at Borden Ladner Gervais LLP, where I supported financing transactions from due diligence to closing, and earlier in my career, I practiced as a Banking & Finance Associate at AELEX, a top-tier West African law firm, advising on major syndicated financings and debt restructurings in the energy and infrastructure sectors.My academic background includes an LLM in Secured Financing Law from the University of Saskatchewan, where my research focused on the regulation of crypto-assets as collateral under Canadian PPSA regimes. I am passionate about financial services innovation, development finance, and expanding access to affordable and inclusive financing.
