   I lead a team of federal and state lobbyists to ensure the voice of our more than members is heard in Washington, DC and across every state capitol. Our team develops and implements political strategies that combine grassroots, grasstops, and executive-level direct lobbying to protect firefighters, build resilient emergency response systems, and ensure firefighters receive fair pay and benefits. I also manage a portfolio of issues including appropriations, occupational health and safety, labor and pensions, and emergency medical services. Throughout my career, I\'ve secured the passage of bills that provided $200 billion in retiree benefits,$1 billion in federal ambulance payments, and $750 million in grants. I am proud to have also secured workers\' compensation benefits, pension reforms, and created tax code changes to incentivize safer buildings. I also enjoy developing new partnerships for the IAFF with international unions, private companies, and other associations focused on public safety and firefighter wellness.
