Quantity surveyors (construction cost consultants/cost estimators) work for either the client or the contractor and can be based in an office or on-site. They make sure the costs of large construction and infrastructure projects are accurately estimated based on initial requirements and project specs. Having a quantity surveyor as part of the team from start to finish ensures that the project is costed out correctly and remains financially feasible at every stage of a construction project. Quantity surveyors maintain a balanced and realistic approach to the funding of every project to make sure there are no cost overruns, nor that the purse strings are not held too tight. Either extreme has the potential for a catastrophic outcome. If budgets are too tight, the quality of the project could suffer and if spending is in free fall, then the funds may run out before the project is completed.

ABOUT ESAN

Custom-built residential buildings, refer to architectural spaces constructed through specialized processes rather than standard methods. While these buildings are built according to construction documents, just like any other structure, they involve far greater detail, complexity, and higher expectations. The most challenging aspect of such projects is the finishing stage, which demands meticulous attention and advanced management skills. As a brief introduction to my expertise and relevant educational background, my PhD in architectural design, combined with a degree in construction management, provides an ideal blend of knowledge for excelling in this field. Additionally, my extensive experience in custom-built projects has equipped me with the skills and confidence to succeed. It\'s important to note that success in this area requires hands-on experience in construction and implementation, as it’s not something one can navigate without practical knowledge.
