Route Services (RS) was established to supply Network Rail’s devolved Regional structures with services that are best provided from a national team. It includes critical services such as IT, Telecoms, Supply and Operation of our rail fleet, major national programmes (Intelligent Infrastructure rollout etc), supply of materials such as rail and ballast, national Commercial and Procurement management as well as shared services including finance, HR and training. c5,400 people and c£1bn spend annually.Headcount pressures led to opportunity of merging and leading the two separate Financial Planning & Analysis and Commercial & Procurement (C&P) Finance teams.
