About Erricka Hager
Erricka Hager, MPH,(she/her) is a fourth-year PhD candidate at the University of Pittsburgh in the School of Public Health\'s Department of Behavioral and Community Health Sciences. Her research employs arts-based methods to explore how Black families—particularly Black women—communicate about family health history across generations, focusing on maternal health. As an interdisciplinary scholar, Erricka centers the voices of Black women in her work and is committed to using innovative, arts-based approaches to disrupt traditional research paradigms. A key aspect of her research is the importance of intergenerational communication in addressing Black maternal health disparities, which she views as critical to improving health outcomes for Black women and their families.
