About Ernest Robinson

Ernest J. Robinson is a disabled veterans outreach specialist at the DC Department of Employment Services, where he helps veterans access employment and training opportunities, as well as other supportive services. He is also a certified life coach, a Y-USA trainer, and a team leader, with over 15 years of experience in professional development, leadership development, and community development. Ernest is passionate about inspiring and empowering people to reach their full potential, whether it is in the military, the corporate world, the educational sector, or the civic arena. He is an expert at cultivating, identifying, and maximizing human talent, and he has delivered keynote speeches, workshops, and consultations on various topics, such as leadership, student government, congress, NPHC, voter education, black history, and military affairs. Ernest believes that great action, not great words, makes one great.

   Supervises Workforce Coordinator in performance of duties related to workforce development and job readiness for client population, supervise performance goal outcomes, and provides updates to the Executive Director.Supervises and provides oversight for Facility Maintenance Team and related processes related to site maintenance and repairs.Supervises the Service Center, SSVF, Outreach and other departments as assigned to ensure cohesiveness of services provided and supervises department outcomes.Facilitates regular meetings with Program Team and reports on program progress and outcomes to Executive Director.Maintains overall organizational integrity within the site and compliance with all federal and other regulations related to site safety.Approves Program Team requests for purchases for submission to Operations Department.Coordinates special projects as identified by Executive Director.Identifies and develops additional programs/resources at the site in conjunction with Executive Director and in coordination with the Clinical Director and Operations Manager.Provides direct service to homeless veterans and non-veterans through crisis intervention, counseling, case management, client grievance/dispute resolution, outreach, and other service activities as necessary.Maintains U.S.VETS-owned vehicle inventory, including maintenance schedule, staff driving schedule, and have ability to safely operate vehicle.Oversees Food Service Operations, up to and including client food service workers, meal change orders, and meal count tracking.Ensures all Program Department inventory is properly procured, received, documented, and accurately maintained.Ensures site readiness related to emergency supplies and proper amount of emergency food in storage.Participates in weekly Programs Conference Call facilitated by U.S.VETS National Office designee.Performs other duties as required.
