ABOUT ERIN REESE

My patients will tell you that their visits with me are thorough, conversational, and educational. The nurses and staff that work with me will describe me as kind, detailed, self-sufficient, and efficient. My peer colleagues will mention that I am a trustworthy team player, a problem-solver, and a collaborator. The trainees and mid-level providers that I supervise and mentor will vouch for my teaching skills, my ability to give and receive feedback, and my dedication to their professional development through excellent patient care.Whether it is discovering a key piece of the history in chart review, noticing the subtle examination finding that ties the pieces together, asking just the right question to figure out lack of efficacy in a treatment, contacting fellow physicians to maximize mutual and safe decision-making, educating patients on their condition and management options, or teaching residents/midlevel providers/nurses, the outcomes depend upon collaborative efforts. The importance of these connections is at the heart of my daily workflow. I hope to utilize these skills while embracing the development of new abilities as I move to the next phase of my career. It is the engineer in me that thrives on the complexity of human physiology and how to break this down into more digestible parts, enjoying the data synthesis and application. It is the daughter of the coal miner and nurse in me that has learned the value of marrying humanism and a strong work ethic. It is the eldest of four daughters in me that has taught me how to lead, how to listen, and how to dish out and take jokes!
