About Erin Lai
As a law enforcement officer, I have spent over half of my career as a detective in the Special Investigations Unit, where I honed my skills in surveillance, apprehension, and undercover operations. I am excited to embark on a new adventure of contributing to advancing operational excellence as a lead instructor for the Cypher Operations Group, where I train other LEOs in complex investigative and surveillance techniques. I am simultaneously pursuing a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, aligning my current career interests with a passion for supporting others. My roles in peer support and as a member of the Valley Hostage Negotiation Team reflect my passion and comitment to mental health advocacy and crisis resolution. These experiences have deepened my understanding of human behavior and equipped me with the tools to build trust, foster resilience, and navigate high-stakes situations with empathy and precision. Outside of work, I love traveling, surfing, skiing, and spending time with my dogs.
