Oct 2021 — Present
Co-founded the Production Workers Guild to lead restorative transformation in the commercial production industry through the advancement of workers\' rights. By identifying the industry\'s shortcomings through a social justice lens, we address the comprehensive needs of production workers. Our mission is rooted in five guiding principles: Democracy, Unbiased Accountability, Sustainability, Collective Transformation, and Equity.Working alongside IATSE, we aim to establish a national union for commercial production workers, ensuring access to fair labor protections, career mobility, and safe, sustainable working environments. Our efforts cover positions across the industry, from Production Assistants to Line Producers, ensuring all workers receive the respect, recognition, and rights they deserve.Achievements:•Established the TEP Committee, which provided training in equity, bias, and conflict resolution, fostering safer and more productive working conditions.•Led training sessions impacting thousands of workers, resulting in improved workplace inclusivity and reduced conflict.•Negotiated initiatives that improved working conditions for production workers, contributing to higher retention rates and overall worker satisfaction.•Advocated for equitable leadership opportunities, empowering workers who are often overlooked for leadership roles, creating a more dynamic and diverse industry.
