About Erin Patton
Based in the San Francisco Bay Area, Erin has nearly 20 years of experience in the development and management of public relations strategies for pharmaceutical, biotechnology and life sciences companies.Erin served as a director on the corporate affairs team at Seagen, a biotechnology company specializing in the discovery, development and commercialization of cancer medicines that was acquired by Pfizer in December 2023. Erin had multiple roles at Seagen, including leading product communications for a precision oncology treatment and pricing & policy communications. Recently, she played a critical role in Seagen\'s public and government affairs initiatives, including spearheading the message development, logistics and on-the-ground representation for a “Day on the Hill” with the CEO to educate U.S. Senators and Representatives on the impact of the Inflation Reduction Act on innovation in oncology and other key issues. Additionally, she supported patient advocacy engagements in lymphoma as part of Seagen Advocacy Relations.Prior to joining Seagen, Erin was senior strategic lead for client engagements at global PR firm Weber Shandwick, overseeing integrated agency teams for accounts across a variety of therapeutic areas, including oncology, cardiology, rare disease and neurology. Her clients have included Genentech, Roche and Novartis, among many others, and her work has spanned product communications, storytelling, thought leadership and campaign creation and third-party partnerships. Erin specializes in product launches and data and regulatory communications, and has led countless FDA approvals, data unblindings and communications efforts for presentations at large medical congresses. Also while at Weber Shandwick, Erin served as an interim international communications leader for Roche on secondment in Basel, Switzerland. In this role, she led communications efforts for a global brand, including a high-profile data unblinding, and ensured strategic alignment and support across affiliates in multiple countries. Erin holds an M.S. in science journalism and a B.S. in biology. Prior to her career in PR, she worked as the biology and medical editor for Encyclopaedia Britannica and as a reporter for Men’s Health magazine.
