About Erin McDermott

As an economist with over 15 years of experience, I am focused on intellectual property, contractual, and antitrust issues relating to pharmaceutical and biologic products and medical devices and diagnostics. Clients and colleagues regularly call on me to assist with high-stakes economic and damages issues in the life sciences industry. I am also frequently retained in matters involving breach of contract, commercial disputes regarding efforts clauses, counterfeit and gray market drugs and devices, misappropriation of trade secrets, and patent infringement disputes. I regularly consult on matters involving damages, commercial success, irreparable harm, anticompetitive impact, market power, and product liability.As a frequent speaker, I sit on panels and present at conferences regarding economic issues in the life sciences industry as well as the intersection of balancing work and career goals with being a parent and caregiver. My passion about this issue led me to take on the role of Co-Chair of CRA\'s parents and caregivers employee resource group.Prior to joining the Life Sciences practice at CRA, I worked across numerous industries including automotive, chemicals, energy, media & telecom, meat processing, oil & gas, retail, textiles, and utilities, providing economic and analytical analysis and insights.I am a member of the ABA Antitrust and Intellectual Property Law Sections and am a Vice Chair on the IP Committee in the Antitrust Section. Additionally, I am on the board of directors at Jeff’s Place, a bereavement center supporting grieving children and families.
