As the statewide lead for disaster response and preparedness efforts across multiple American Red Cross regions, I am responsible for the coordination, implementation, and success of statewide disaster response strategies. I oversee planning and operations that align regional capabilities with state-level and national disaster goals, ensuring rapid, effective, and equitable delivery of services during times of crisis.In this role, I operate across all phases of the Disaster Management Cycle—preparedness, response, and recovery—while providing operational leadership during incidents of any scale. I partner closely with regional leaders, state and federal agencies (including FEMA), and local municipalities to ensure coordinated planning, resource deployment, and public safety outcomes. I also support and guide a statewide network of disaster workforce volunteers, focusing on leadership development, community engagement, and operational excellence.Key Responsibilities-Lead the development and execution of integrated, state-wide response plans across multiple ARC regions-Coordinate regional and statewide disaster operations, ensuring timely and client-centered service delivery-Serve in operational leadership roles during disaster activations, including high-impact and multi-regional events-Foster and maintain strategic relationships with state agencies, FEMA, and emergency operations centers-Supervise the growth and effectiveness of volunteer leadership teams supporting disaster response-Align American Red Cross objectives with state emergency management frameworks and community resilience efforts-Oversee vendor/resource coordination to ensure material readiness in response to risk and need-Represent American Red Cross in state-level emergency planning, policy, and interagency coordination.
