About Erin Eckman

I’m an emerging policy professional passionate about using data, economics, and rigorous research to inform better government decisions. As an M.P.A. candidate with a concentration in economics at The Ohio State University, I’ve built a foundation in public finance, program evaluation, and economic analysis that supports evidence-based policymaking.My experience spans both economic and national security policy, giving me a 360-degree view of how research translates into operational strategy. At the Bipartisan Policy Center, I worked in the Economic Policy Program managing national datasets and publishing explainers on fiscal and tax policy read by policymakers, journalists, and investors alike. At Serco, I contributed to the AUKUS submarine initiative by analyzing risk under International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and developing training frameworks for Australian International Military Students. Most recently, I’ve consulted for the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory on workforce strategy and retention in technical government contracted careers.I’m motivated by roles that combine policy research, quantitative analysis, and strategic communication, especially within organizations tackling fiscal, economic, or administrative reform. My goal is to advance thoughtful, data-driven policy that strengthens public institutions and delivers measurable impact.I’m always eager to connect with others passionate about fiscal policy, public sector innovation, and research that drives real-world impact.
