As a litigator and past chair of Stewart McKelvey\'s NL litigation group, Erin has appeared before all levels of court in NL, as well as the Federal Court and Supreme Court of Canada, representing regional, national and multinational insurance clients, municipalities, and construction clients. She regularly acts in complex and multi-party cases and is known for her ability to resolve complicated matters using negotiation and mediation techniques. Erin is the past chair of the CBA National Intellectual Property Section. As an intellectual property lawyer and trademark agent Erin works with her clients to develop and execute their brand strategies. She has presented with Deloitte on emerging trends in IP asset valuation and, in her role as an officer of the CBA National IP Section she has been heavily involved in consultations on the Copyright Act and Trade-marks Act and Regulations, including co-chairing the CBA submission on the overhaul of the Copyright Act in 2012. As a copyright lawyer, Erin helped Memorial University respond to the Access Copyright litigation wherein Access Copyright alleged infringement against Canadian universities based on an overbroad interpretation of fair dealing. As a result of that litigation Erin worked with the university to develop and implement its Copyright Policy.As a trademark agent and lawyer Erin handles the registration, maintenance and enforcement of a large portfolio of national and international trademarks. She regularly provides advice on registrability, infringement and corporate structuring and its impact on trademark holdings. Erin is known in the start-up community for her knowledge of founder\'s agreements and dynamic equity splits among start-up owners. She is the Canadian contact for the Slicing Pie method of dynamic equity splits.

Hearings proceeded for a full year and involved over a million documents. • Acting as lead counsel for the applicant in a successful class action with over a million class members, resulting in an award of $20 million for class members. • Acting as counsel for the Intervenor, APTN, in a significant media law appeal decision wherein an injunction was vacated helping to relieve journalist Justin Brake of the consequences of a contempt order.
