ABOUT ERIN D.
Learning & Development | Employee Experience | ADDIE Model Enthusiast | Storyteller I couldn’t find the thread connecting all of my previous experiences until one of my direct reports asked me how I decided on a career in Learning & Development. As someone who enjoys helping others find their “a-ha” moments, it really made my day. For a long time, I thought the thread connecting my experience was helping people, in any capacity. But it’s more than that.I enjoy helping people grow into their potential.I’ve always gravitated to training new hires, leading team building activities, and helping others work through changes in processes. When I found my way into Learning & Development, everything fell into place. To me, Learning & Development goes hand-in-hand with Employee Experience and a company’s culture. These three components influence everything I do.You’ll find me- at home on a blank page. I love creating learning programs and content from scratch with cross-functional stakeholders and teammates. I believe anything can be solved during a brainstorm, but don’t let that scare away my Blue and Green HBDI quadrant colleagues. I can keep my Red and Yellow in check- operating in service of the bigger picture while rolling up my proverbial sleeves to dig into the details. My love for project management stems from the dichotomy of working towards a future vision while meticulously checking off my to-do list, with color-coded pens or tabs- connecting with people managers who want to develop their skills to then better develop their teams. I will always make time to join a meeting or discuss growth opportunities- comfortable in front of a group. Whether it’s new hires for orientation, a functional team ready for a workshop, or a team-building activity, I love creating a safe space for people to learn something new about themselves and others- tackling data analysis with a coffee. I love combing through data to ensure we deliver meaningful learning experiences for employees, and I’m most effective when I can look at the data in the morning and let it marinate. While my spreadsheets will be organized and thorough, I’ll tell the story in visuals and bullet points to make it easy to digest- excited to solve problems, be a soundboard, and lead with empathy. We’re most impactful when we are united in our purpose- on the ballroom dance floor, lost in a book, choreographing to the song on my playlist, or traveling when I’m outside of the office.Interested in connecting? Drop me a message with the last moment that inspired you at work.
