Collaborate with showrunners and producers on all creative elements of the series from story concept to final cut & delivery. Give notes throughout the writing process, working hand-in-hand with writers from breaking the season arc, outlines, and scripts. Approve casting. Consult on production issues, such as budgets, shoot schedules, and guild compliance. In post, weigh in creatively on the picture edit, sound design, and music. On direct-to-series orders or new spinoffs of current series, work as the development exec on the project, developing pilot scripts, working with casting on original series regulars, and production on production design, cinematography, costumes, and hair/make-up concepts. This accounts for 9 of the 16 series I’ve covered, with 6 additional spinoffs currently in development. Have achieved 26 subsequent season production orders to date. Manage budgets ranging from $2.5M-10M+/episode. Have had up to $500M of content actively in production under my purview at a given time. Consistently deliver on or below budget. Vet and hire writers on staff and episodic directors over the life of a series. Have identified and advocated for 10+ first-time episodic directors getting their break, in a concerted effort to build a more diverse and equitable talent pipeline. Have fostered career growth among our crew who have become writers, directors, and Producer/Directors.
