In this role I work collaboratively with the Senior Vice-President Academic and Deans across all schools at Loyalist College to shape the present and future academic programming of the institution. As the leader responsible for the development and execution of experiential learning policies, procedures, and practices across our campuses in Belleville and Port Hope, I oversee a diverse team of 15 full-time and part-time staff dedicated to creating impactful experiential learning opportunities. In this role I successfully led the change management process to establish the College’s inaugural Office of Experiential Learning, completing its development and execution within just six months.

As an award-winning leader in equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI), I bring over 17 years of experience in fostering inclusive environments and driving transformative change in academic and organizational settings. My journey is grounded in a deep commitment to collaboration, innovation, and creating meaningful impact. Currently serving as Director of Experiential Learning at Loyalist College, I collaborate with senior academic leaders to integrate experiential learning opportunities into diverse curricula. My work is guided by a belief in the power of education to bridge gaps and promote equity, which has earned me the 2023 Canadian Bureau for International Education Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Award. My expertise spans: Strategic EDI Leadership: Advising institutional leadership, developing inclusive policies, and executing educational initiatives that support diverse communities. Innovative Program Development: Leading cross-campus projects and managing multi-stakeholder initiatives to enhance access and engagement. Teaching and Training Excellence: Designing and delivering courses and workshops on gender, politics, anti-racism, and inclusive pedagogy, recognized by the Gender Studies Faculty Teaching Award. My academic foundation includes a PhD in Political Studies, with a focus on gender and politics, complemented by a Master’s in Canadian and Indigenous Studies. These credentials, combined with my experience as an educator, researcher, and advisor, empower me to navigate complex challenges with a nuanced perspective.
