   As a member of CEA\'s management team, I supervise staff in the Government Relations and Communications departments. I also oversee and manage all of the Political Affairs (legislative, electoral, and policy) and Communications programs- Provide strategic direction for the state\'s largest union, collaborating with staff and the management team to develop programs and strategies to build the power of the union and advance the goals of the political and communications programs - Lead CEA‘s political program, including legislative and electoral strategies. Manage lobbying, member engagement in legislative session, polling and research, policy development, and school board, legislative, and ballot measure campaigns- Lead CEA’s communications program, including building strategic communications plans for the organization, campaigns, and programs. Manage CEA’s PR Firms (media relations and graphic design)- Direct, develop, coach, and evaluate 9Government Affairs and Communications staff- Focus on problem solving and overcoming challenges and barriers to achieve organizational goals. Support CEA’s diversity, equity, and inclusion goals, including serving on our internal equity committee and leading the creation of an equity onboarding curriculum- Translate the vision of governance and leaders into effective programs and foster effective communication and information sharing. Collaborate with program and field staff to ensure alignment, focus, and coordination of CEA program work - Work with staff, management, and governance to promote a collaborative and positive workplace culture through the lens of social justice practices
