About Erikson Arcaira
A unique blend of research, non-profit, big data, public policy, tech and start-up experienceI’ve devoted my career into addressing some of the hardest challenges and wicked problems that face society. As a researcher and data scientist, I’ve traveled the country, to the poorest cities and the forgotten towns, studying chronically failing schools and the lost human potential they leave in their wake. I’ve worked with government and philanthropic organizations they support innovators trying to transform the education system and redefine what learning means in the 21st century. As a founding member of a new research institute and social innovation incubator, I was research director and was part of a team that studied the conditions that trap families in a cycle of inter-generational poverty. We also examined the labor economics of cities and explored ways that they can meet their workforce needs, streamline and diversify their talent pipelines, and help their citizens achieve economic mobility. At my current position, I’m using big data to create technologies that help protect our fellow citizens. A disciple of human-centered design, I believe that a career spent working with at risk youth, those left behind by our fast changing economy, black and brown communities, poor people who cannot seem to get a break, and those struggling with drug addiction and hopelessness has built in me an empathy and passion that will aid organizations achieve our mutual goals for social impact. Get in touch if you want to discuss these projects and others in greater detail.
