ABOUT ERIK HAMILTON

My name is Erik Hamilton, a graduate student in Applied Biotechnology at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, specializing in the Business and Management track. This focus equips me with knowledge of the latest advancements in both biotechnology and medical technology, with an emphasis on their practical applications within industry settings. I began my educational journey at the University of Maine, where I earned a degree in Psychology with an emphasis on Biological and Cognitive Sciences, complemented by a minor in Philosophy. This interdisciplinary background provides me with a comprehensive perspective, allowing me to consider the human dimensions that underlie advancements in biotechnology and medical technology. Currently, I serve as a Sales Associate at KARL STORZ Endoscopy in Charleston, South Carolina. In this role, I conduct product demonstrations, support promotional activities, and execute sales strategies to build and maintain strong relationships with medical personnel. I am responsible for providing quotes, managing customer support, and contributing to increased sales across hospitals and clinics by staying updated on KARL STORZ’s medical technology offerings. I also collaborate with the regional sales team to identify new business opportunities, develop targeted sales plans, provide training to medical staff, and analyze market trends and competitor activities to inform strategic decisions. My professional background spans customer-focused roles in the hospitality industry and beverage management, where I cultivated adaptability, precision, and a commitment to excellence. Combining my expertise in psychology, biotechnology, and medical technology, I take a human-centric approach to navigating technological innovations. I strive to ensure that advancements serve the needs of end-users, balancing scientific progress with a holistic understanding of its impact on people and healthcare environments.
