ABOUT ERIK OLESON
I am currently a tenured associate professor in the Psychology Department at the University of Colorado Denver. My lab generally focuses on the role of subsecond dopamine release in motivated behavior within the context of drug addiction. We measure real-time dopamine release during operant behavior using a technique called fast-scan cyclic voltammetry and control dopamine neural activity using a technique called optogenetics. I earned my PhD at Wake Forest University under David C.S. Roberts and did my post-doctoral fellowship under Joseph F. Cheer at the University of Maryland School of Medicine.
