Erik is the VP of Transformation (VPT) for Deluxe, a Platinum Equity Portco and is based out of New York City. Prior to Deluxe, Erik led a team in Silicon Valley Bank\'s (SVB) corporate strategy team. Earlier, Erik owned and operated an independent consulting practice, based in Boston, serving large and mid-market Private Equity clients across sectors-e.g. utilities, tech, FS, PE, manufacturing, retail-geographies-Europe, North America, Asia-pac-and functional topics-strategy, ops, marketing, commercial due diligence, org effectiveness, etc.In May 2020, Bloomsbury published his debut book,\"Un-American: A Soldier\'s Reckoning of Our Longest War.\" The New York Times said,\"There have been several excellent memoirs by veterans of our current wars, but this is the first one that reminded me of the disillusioned writings of British veterans after World War I.\" It is sold online and at major international bookstores including Target, Barnes & Noble (US), Blackwell\'s (UK), and Dymocks (Australia), amongst others. Erik is represented by Word Link Literary. His writing and media appearances have been featured on CBS Sunday Morning, MSNBC, BBC, NowThis, Deutsche Welle, TF1, NBC News, USA Today, Politico, WGBH, The New Republic, The Nation, NY Daily News, Huffington Post, Salon, Ralph Nader Radio Hour, Democracy Now, Yale Climate Connections, and others.While writing his first book, Erik was an integrative consultant, first at Boston Consulting Group (BCG), then McKinsey & Company—in their Australian offices. Erik received broad experience across functions—strategy, ops, marketing, AA—and industries—utilities, PE, FS, retail, public sector.Previously, Erik was an Infantry Captain in the U.S. Army for over 5 years. Erik served in a variety of roles ranging from platoon leader leading combat missions in Afghanistan through to being the Presidential Escort Platoon Leader to President Obama in Washington D.C. Erik is a graduate of U.S. Army Ranger school, passed U.S. Special Forces Selection (SFAS) at the age of 19, and is a recipient of the Bronze Star Medal. Erik earned an MBA and MSc in Environmental Change and Management from the University of Oxford. In 2013, Erik was selected as an Oxford Business School Fellow and represents the University as one of its five Australasia ambassadors. Erik received a Bachelor of Science from The United States Military Academy (West Point) where he was on the Dean’s List every semester for all four years.
