ABOUT ERIKA CHAGIN
As a fourth-year International Relations student at the University of Southern California (USC), I supplement my studies with a myriad of leadership, professional and cultural pursuits, allowing me a well-rounded perspective as I work towards becoming an international human rights lawyer. In my future career, I strive to protect and promote the rights of vulnerable people worldwide by combining cross-cultural understanding with legal methodology to re-humanize the global victim advocacy system. While at USC, I\'ve furthered my passion for international relations inside and outside of the classroom. I\'ve studied abroad in the Czech Republic and the Netherlands; completed a month-long human rights research course in Kyrgyzstan; established USC\'s inaugural chapter of the nationwide nonprofit United Nations Association of the USA (UNA-USA); attended United Nations conferences thrice; and worked with four legal/human rights institutions. I am excited to continue my education and professional experiences while giving back to my community. In the words of Cambodian genocide survivor Loung Ung:\"Help the person next to you if you can’t help the person far from you.\"
