ABOUT ERIKA KIM
As the Senior Biomedical Informatics Program Officer in the NCI Data Ecosystems Branch, I lead a team of research professionals and support staff within the Cancer Research Data Commons (CRDC), where we develop and sustain strategies for large-scale data sharing, management, and analysis to accelerate NCI-funded research. Our mission is to empower cancer researchers by providing access to a robust, cloud-based data ecosystem with cutting-edge visualization, analysis, and interoperability tools that support the management and use of complex, multi-modal cancer data.In addition to my work at NCI, I also serve as a Program Manager for the Biomedical Data Fabric (BDF) program at ARPA-H, where I set the overall program vision, architect the program strategy for real world implementation, and operational execution of next-generation data architecture to advance precision healthcare. I oversee the development and oversight of emerging AI tools that enable secure, scalable, and intelligent use of biomedical data, transforming traditionally siloed information into actionable insights for real-time clinical decision-making and healthcare delivery for all. Across both programs, my focus is on building innovative, interoperable, and sustainable healthcare data ecosystems that unlock the enduring value of biomedical data, strengthen the national research infrastructure, equip clinicians with actionable insights, and improve health outcomes at scale.
