ABOUT ERIK WEXLER

Extensive frontline, managerial and lived experience in community-based mental health & substance use, as well as first hand knowledge and experience in the design and implementation of social innovation projects meant to test new approaches and demonstrate meaningful social impact!At the core of my professional philosophy is a focus on individuals with lived experience and their stories. I affirm and stand by the statement \"nothing about us without us.\" The importance of the statement must expand beyond traditional gestures of amplification practices often reiterated in the sector. I believe nothing for us without us is the fundamental pre-condition of any substantive effort to make meaningful change.My combination of lived and professional work experience provides me a unique vantage point and set of learnings from which to view key issues and potential solutions worthy of trial and evaluation.
