Jun 2023 — Present · Washington, DC, US
As Director of Educational Initiatives at CRA, Erik is a member of the CRA Leadership Team providing operational leadership, program management, and relationship building for the organization. As the principal investigator of the NSF CSGrad4US Fellowship Program (NSF #23•••98 ($42M), NSF #22•••62 ($1.35M), and NSF #21•••80 ($1M)), Erik oversees a dedicated team to increase the number of domestic graduate students pursuing research and innovation careers in the CISE fields: computer science, computer engineering, or information science. The NSF CSGrad4US Fellowship program provides not only general graduate application advice and guidance, but also the often missing larger context and network to students returning from the workforce to pursue a Ph.D. Another program Erik directs is the UR2PhD Program, a nationally-managed approach to quality undergraduate research opportunities and to bridging the gap to PhD applications.
