About Erik McCutchen
I am an incoming Masters Student studying Computer Science at Cal Poly - San Luis Obispo. I love getting involved with projects and research in the areas of Cybersecurity, Compilers, Quantum Computing, and Software Engineering. Heading into summer, I\'ll be working at Lawrence Livermore National Labs for the second summer in a row. This year I\'ll be on the CyTRICS team where I\'ll be diving deeper into Ghidra to reverse engineer binaries that are used in critical power ICS applications. I look forward to growing my reverse engineering and binary exploitation skill set, while also gaining a deeper understanding of the binary analysis research domain at large. I hope to use these skills in my Thesis surrounding compiler security and the rest of my coursework as I complete my Masters over the next year.I also just finished the 2024 IBM Quantum Challenge so shoutout to IBM to putting that on!I am always looking for new experiences that will expand my knowledge of Computer Science & Engineering.
