ABOUT ERIK FERAGOTTO
I am passionate about innovation, the kind that drives progress and first and foremost answers the question of \"why\", exploring the logical and mathematical foundations that I consider essential for understanding and contributing concretely to the world. While the core of my approach is mathematical and scientific, my surface is more dynamic: I enjoy moving across different fields, adapting methods and strategies to diverse situations, trying to abstract from the specific to the general and vice versa. This translates into a natural tendency to dive deep into topics, but with the ability to move horizontally. In this perspective, artificial intelligence represents a natural evolution for me: a method with solid mathematical foundations that enables the exploration of what until now seemed unattainable, representing for me more of an approach than a tool, with the goal of not only doing, but discovering too. Beyond my professional domain, my focus on what drives progress leads me to be interested in aerospace, entrepreneurship, and politics. Currently, I work as a Machine Learning Engineer in the Digital Manufacturing team at Limacorporate (now Enovis), where I apply and develop skills that range from designing tools for data collection to the deployment of applications that turn that data into knowledge. I primarily work on advanced manufacturing processes, with a focus on additive manufacturing using EBM technology. MOST SIGNIFICANT EXPERIENCES FROM THE PAST I began my academic journey with a BSc in Biomedical Engineering at Padua, then pursued an MSc at Politecnico di Milano, focusing on electronics applied to the biomedical field. During this time, I also joined the Junior Enterprise of Politecnico di Milano (JEMP) to refine my project management skills and understand company dynamics. Meanwhile, I spent a year in Strasbourg as part of a double degree program with Telecom Physique Strasbourg University, completing six months of courses and a six-month internship at IHU Strasbourg, where I concluded the experience with a thesis on \"Multi-Task Learning for Endoscopic Ultrasound Images.\" I graduated in April 2024, marking the completion of my academic journey—at least for now:)
